Jeremiah August
// keyboard
Jeremiah, eldest of the August Brothers, fell in love with music at the age of 3. He began playing on a drum set first, but moved on to piano a year later and instantly knew it was for him. Classical music was his first genre which served as a great medium to learn both music theory and proper technique. As the years went on, he began to learn jazz, contemporary, and gospel. By the time he was in high school, Jeremiah was opening concerts for local music artists, performing around the community with his family as the August Worship Band, and leading the Dover High School marching band as the Drum Major. He has come in first at local and regional music competitions, received personal praise from Disney celebrities, and was accepted into the world-renowned drumline Cold-Steel of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with only a year and a half of experience at the time. Jeremiah is currently becoming a formidable pianist and producer, further proving his self-proficiency as an up-and-coming force in the music industry.
Luis Figueroa
// guitar
Luis Figueroa, longtime friend of the August brothers and leader of The Fig Tree band, started playing guitar at nine years old after his mother taught him a couple chords. Later, Luis would go on to play other instruments such as drums and clarinet, but always loved guitar the most. As a clarinet player, Luis excelled in his school bands and was known as one of the top clarinetists in the school. This musical excellence continued through junior high school where his jazz career began as the lead guitarist in the CMS jazz band. It was in this band that Luis had his first guitar solo which inspired him to pursue a career as a professional guitarist. While in the middle school band, Luis met Jeremiah, Elijah, and Josh and began to lead them as a group called The August Worship Band and Friends. Later Luis went on his own jazz self-study and joined the DHS marching band, continuing to play clarinet as the second best clarinetist in the school, the junior and senior clarinet section leader, and the Sergeant at Arms. After high school Luis continued his jazz studies in the University of Delaware jazz band as the main guitarist under direction of the well known Tom Palmer. During this time, Luis wrote several songs and revamped his band under the name "The Fig Tree." Luis has become a well known guitarist in several states and has been coined "the musician who can play anything."
